Interesting – despite vicarious liability to ensure safety of all those engaged in UK operations, RN chooses not to supply safety boots to local workers moving boxes which require a two man lift.
Dramatic video would have been so much less dramatic had the load been rigged on a long strop. Aircraft seemed to be entering a constrained HLS; lifting a lot of debris; increasing operating risk; all risks removed with long strop?
Boxes used by WFP (Zargesesque) were not chosen on basis of value for money! Still, it is UN money, so who cares?? And yet the red ‘machjne’ (welding kit?) Should have been, at the least crated then carried in a sacrificial tri wall, was not fully protected?
Just AAR points ….

What’s the recovery rate at the ‘treatment’ centres our brave boys have put up?
Or is that one if those questions we aren’t supposed to ask?
TrT, go an wash your mouth out!. Don’t forget though, we are building and providing some staff, NGO’s are holding the baby so to speak
PeterF, very interesting comments. Was going to look at Zarges boxes in the final post on boxes, pallets and containers. I think the other kit was from Karcher, pretty sure I saw the label on on the video although I could be mistaken, so I suspect they are something to do with steam cleaning or water treatment. That, or they are setting up a car wash somewhere! Long strops, but how would we get dramatic footage :)
