An interesting article from CodeOne looking at Lockheed Martin’s entry to DARPA’s Transformer program. This looks like something that might actually get off the ground (ouch).

Oh dear, my first unsupervised effort appears to have gone a tad wrong. Not to worry, I have an IT manual to hand:
1/. Try switching it off and back on again;
2/. Swear at it – alot;
3/. Walk away and hope no one notices.
Wiseape. Not to worry , I went to Codeone & found it easily. An unmanned vehicle like this would be great for sneaking in at night & taking air & soil samples from a suspected nuclear/chemical site.
Or indeed sneaking in and planting some samples….As the article points out, one of the big plus points of the K-Max drone is that it greatly reduces exposure to IEDs. This might not be such a driver now, but I hope LM continue to get funding for this, looks interesting. But, like smartphones, possibly too much technology for what is after all a fairly straight forward task?
