I see how this works with quadricopters, but could such a system be made to work by putting it on the main hub of a normal single-rotor machine? I’m thinking more for civillian use, in the case of catastrophic blade failure that prevents an auto-rotation crash landing. Could the ‘chutes be made big enough?
There is a system for light aircraft already so maybe adapted to a device similar to the Apache longbow radar dome could work.
