Proving that there is no subject too niche for me to write about, a post about hammers.
OK, it is not about hammers, it is about our relentless reduction in personnel, and how we need to maximise efficiency and availability of what is left.
Every single workshop or training accident we have with a sledge or lump hammer has a cost, it reduces availability, injures personnel and increases cost.
It costs a fortune to train a vehicle mechanic.
Take one out of action for a month with a broken finger (or several), it has an impact.
We should therefore always be looking for opportunities for injury reduction.
Slide Sledge is like you might imagine, a sliding sledgehammer.
The manufacturer claims a significant reduction in injury potential and equipment damage.
We might already use these, but I thought it a good example of investing to save.
They even come in a nice case, although you might want to squint when you see how much!
