I am voting for Sol. He has kicked me off his blog twice now this year. Why? Well at least I know he recognises my brilliance that’s why…..
I do somehow feel that Defence IQ are a bit like a virus. I have never knowingly given them my email address through 3 defence companies in 10 years, but yet there they are in my inbox most days. It seems a bit unsporting to block the entire domain name at the gateway server, as sometimes we get involved in one of their conferences, but even so. There are also the phone calls to my mobile, pleading with me as a “senior industry figure” (Ha! flattery) to spend my marketing budget on something they are doing, and from which I can very rarely see any return on investment. How do you shake them off?
I’ll trudge off and tick the TD box though. TD’s been more than patient with me, my odd thoughts about carriers and ARGs, and the still only half written article on airships. I’m trying to time that one for a few months before airships actually get widely accepted, so gaining some prophet status, but it may be a while…
I’d say that you should be a bit unsporting.
It might give them a hint that their methods annoy people.
@ Mr Fred 2059,
I need to work out how to block certain phone numbers from calling me. Not sure it is possible with the faithful old work Nokia, but I think iPhone can, and there’s probably also Android ones as well that can do this. I might borrow my wife’s iPhone to see if it is possible then maybe buying one on the expenses.
I also saw demonstrated a tiny little projector running a presentation via an iPhone. Really small, size of a pack of fags with an internal 9v battery, and quite a decent 4 foot image projected. That’d be good. I’ve got around a dozen one slide wonders for some of our kit, the old 5 minute lift briefing. Put a lot of effort into getting those charts to really sizzle, and being able to flash one up impromptu from a phone and a projector you fish out of your pocket would be a good thing in small and infrequent doses.
As usual, there’s not really a category my blog would fit in.
James
Saw re run of top gear on Dave last night, where James may was trying to control an airship in light winds- Inevitably … It Crashed.
Thanks for the plug – I’ll be sure to return the favour over at PSL shortly!
I clicked on your rpdefense link but I can’t read the articles: all the words appear to be gibberish like some kind of alien language or something
Thanks !! and congratulations !
