The first in class is rapidly coming together.

On June 6 the dock where HMS Queen Elizabeth is being assembled was partially flooded. This is preparation for in preparation for floating out the section already there and moving in the 6,000 tonne LB02 which recently arrived from BAE Systems in Portsmouth

June 8, 2012. With the dock flooded, the 13,000 tonne superblock 03 floated for the first time. Next step is to float it out of the dock, float in the 6,000 tonne LB02 section that arrived from Portsmouth, before floating SB03 back in and moving ahead with the next stage of the assembly.
