Think Defence hopes to start sensible conversations about UK defence issues, no agenda or no campaign but there might be one or two posts on containers, bridges and mexeflotes!
However, if the post is about what I think it is, then the answer will be in the detail.
What I fear is that while the ten-year equipment plan is to a certain extent re-assuring in that it confirms the purchase of equipment that has been talked about recently and has been hoped for, it nevertheless does not mention anything really new. So that what is perhaps desirable rather than absolutely necessary has been omitted.
I have given the example on another website of something like the M777 gun for the Army. A replacement/complement for the Light Gun is going to be needed before long but I suppose such equipment is not deemed urgent. Still, it would have been nice to receive one or two morale-boosting goodies but I suppose the financial situation is still so grave that any extra expenditure has been sensibly avoided.

The link is dead here and also on uTube; on British Forces News gives a wrong video
- anyway, NAO hasn’t even started yet on the 10-year plan (and have you ever seen auditors to be quick about anything?)

Thanks for the reply, ACC. And the answer re: auditors is no, I certainly have not!
