The Future of the RAF 20 – Summary

| May 19, 2011 | 3 Comments

In the previous 20 posts I have looked at the RAF, its applicability as a separate service, organisation, tasks and equipment.

Much like the Royal Navy series the underlying strategy is the maintenance of a small core of full spectrum capabilities to hedge against strategic uncertainty, surrounded by a small number of ‘capability plus’ areas that build out from the core and create islands of exemplary capabilities via which the UK can achieve influence in a coalition operation.

This is supported by an emphasis on regional engagement, mentoring and forming and sustaining multi agency security relationships in an effort to stave off expensive engagements at a later date.

The next in the series is land forces but in the meantime;
