Just been digging through some photos of the deployment exercise Auriga earlier this year.
Is it just me or does HMS Ocean look she needs a rest?

what’s that old saying buy cheap, buy twice. thanks to the complete cock up in buying this “you can do it for how much, great” It’s service life was reduced to 2015, laughingly we should be looking/procurring it’s replacement now. let me just check, oh no there’s still a hole in my ar$e, so not just yet!!!

Well, there are supposed to be two LPH’s to match the two LPD’s, but that has never worked out.
She was also made to cheaper commercial standards and thus only has a relatively short service life.
By 2018 we will have to give serious thought to replacing her, preferably with two ships.
Some way to go till she looks like that picture of Hermes coming home from the Falklands
