Its quite good, although the last bit verges on insanity
The last option sounds like the piece has been written by a Liberal Democrat europhile. Not only that it seems to overlook the reality that we have 14 overseas territories some of which may contain copious amounts of future energy resources!
If the British public are unwilling to fund the first two (maritime/continental) then it is de-facto the ‘correct’ doctrine.
We of course are pretty certain that people will back Britain as a significant player in world affairs, but that is a different matter.

Its the option we would be taking, but in no way is it correct.
“Moral” power only works when your fighting the UK.
Trying it on Atilla the Hun just makes it easier for him to loot your town and sell you as a slave.
We’d be hoping no one was mean and took our toys from us, its not a valid strategy for keeping them.
